Statement of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC)to the Ad Hoc Working Group for the Paris Agreement (APA)-COP22

Dear Excellences,

The International Indigenous Peoples´ Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC) welcomes the recognition through the Paris Agreement that action on climate change must be consistent with the human rights obligations of states, including by implementing the rights of Indigenous Peoples. This recognition must be the core foundation guiding Indigenous Peoples together with State Parties in all UNFCCC actions including APA Agenda Items.
